The Bella Cucina Artful Food Panini maker is a well made kitchen appliance that makes tasty toasted sandwiches. The grill can easily accommodate sandwiches of all shapes and sizes. Some Panini maker’s won’t close well when grilling a sub or a rounded roll. The grills heats evenly among the whole sandwich so there is no one part cooked more than another. One other thing this appliance does is heat through the whole sandwich without burning the outside. You end up with food that is cooked through all the way, and golden brown bread.
There are many good qualities about the Panini maker. It heats up quickly. Within two minutes the appliance is ready to go. It is also very easy to use. It has a convenient light on it that allows a person to know exactly when it is done. This prevents the sandwich from being over done. It has a grease tray that fits into the front easily so there is very little mess. The appliance is light in weight. It is silver on the top with black sides. The cooking service is ten inches long by eight inches wide. It is big enough to put two to three sandwiches on it. Finally, this product has very easy clean up. Grease is wiped away with a wet towel and requires very little scrubbing, if any. It is small enough to store easily but plenty big to cook multiple sandwiches at a time.
There are some drawbacks to this appliance as well. It does not have any device to keep it from closing. It can be potentially dangerous when it is hot because the grill can close on you. Also, the temperature dial is hard to understand. You don’t know if you’re turning it to high or to low. Furthermore, while it distributes heat evenly among each side of the sandwich, the top always seems to get done more than the bottom. You end up with bread that is much lighter on one side than another.
Finally, temperature on this grill varies greatly. The knob that controls the heat should only be moved at very small increments. If you are not very familiar with the heating of the grill it is very easy to burn your sandwich if it is cooking at a higher temperature than you realize.
